Falling Behind

I have gotten behind on my postings - a lot going on. Kelsie had her last Basketball game of the season on Saturday. On Sunday, Wayne left for Worship Leader's Retreat. The band from WBC and the green praise team (the one I sing with) led worship at the retreat last night. We had a good time and got home late. All that to say, busy weekend - have pics to post and I hope to catch up this week. Kelsie has Upward Award Night tonight so hopefully I will have several pics to post. More soon. Countdown to Spring Break - 2 WEEKS!!!!! Can't wait!!

Date Night

Since Valentine's Day was on a Wednesday and Wayne took me out on Tuesday, Kelsie and Wayne decided to have their date on Friday night. They went to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner, Main Event for one ride and Chuck E. Cheese to play. This picture is one Wayne took with his phone and sent to me while they were out to let me know they were having a great time. As for me, I curled up on the couch with 2 movies that Wayne would absolutely HATE. "Elizabeth" was a movie about Queen Elizabeth (the Virgin Queen) from the 1500's. The second movie was "The Devil Wears Prada" - cute movie - definitely a chick flick. At first I felt a little guilty about not using my time to do laundry and stuff around the house and then I decided I was tired and just enjoyed the quiet and uninterrupted movie watching. Wayne and Kelsie came back and had lots of fun with their night on the town together.

Right now we are all counting down to Spring Break. We aren't going on a big trip this year b/c Wayne and I are going to Vancouver on a mission trip this summer. However, we all are off work and school and plan to do lots of things around here every day. We are all looking forward to the break and family time. So, here goes the countdown -23DAYS!!!!!

Pictures and More

Hailey and Kelsie right before the party -
they are excited for glow in the dark putt-putt.

In front of the glowing giraffes. Cute!

Uncle Wayne teaching Hailey how to hold a club.

Kelsie having a good time at cousin Hailey's party.

Hailey is 4!! Make a WISH - Little Cinderella Princess

Well, here are the pics of Hailey's party - at least the best 5 I could upload. We had lots of fun as you can tell. Cinderella was the theme and glow in the dark golf place was really cute. Thank goodness for indoor golf b/c it was very cold.

A little note about Valentine's Day. Of course, it was on Wednesday which is church night for us but Wayne and I celebrated on Tuesday night. He took me to a restaurant called Escargot - no we didn't have snails, although they were on the menu. The food was good, one of those 4 course, 3 hour kind of meals - very relaxing and enjoyable. Wayne had taken red roses earlier in the day and they were waiting at the table when we got there. The cutest part about that was when I picked Kelsie up from school on Tuesday, we were talking about us going out and her having a babysitter and she said "and I'm not telling you what Dad took to the restaurant today on his lunch hour." She just couldn't stand it anymore. Wednesday was also fun - Wayne and I got to take Kelsie lunch and balloons to her school. She was surprised and excited. Anyway, the roses are still pretty, opening up. Kelsie gave me a cute picture frame with red hearts on it and her picture in it - looks great in my red kitchen. Good LOVE day - hope you feel loved. I am blessed to be loved unconditionally by my Savior and loved by my precious family. More pics after Saturdays basketball game - only 2 more left!! Thank goodness - 8:30 games are early for Saturday!!!

Birthday Celebration Weekend

This weekend was my niece's 4th birthday. Her party (in San Angelo) was at a cute indoor jungle putt-putt place. It was all neon and very cute. All the kids had a great time and so did the adults. Hailey was pretty cute opening her gifts - she was genuinely excited about everything she opened. The party was Friday night and so Kelsie spent the night in Hailey's room (first time) with her. Hailey was so excited about "sissy" (that's what she calls her) staying the night. The next day they played and played with Hailey's new toys. Kelsie was cute playing her new game with her, showing her how to play with her new pet shops and doing play-doh. We had to leave on Saturday to get back for church so it was a very quick trip but packed full of fun.

Sunday was Brynn's (one of Kelsie's 2nd grade friends from church) birthday party at Main Event. The big thing there was that Kelsie and Morgan rode a virtual roller coaster ride - you know, the enclosed ones. They stood in line patiently for quite a while watching people get off and on. I think they were a little concerned watching but wanted to do it and convinced themselves that it couldn't be too bad if other kids their age were riding it. It was so funny when they realized there was a red panic stop button inside in case they wanted to stop. Anyway, at the first upside down turn, we could hear them screaming!! They came out laughing and saying it was really fun.

Well, an eventful weekend. I'm wiped out and don't have the energy at the moment to upload the pics from the weekend but I did get some cute ones - still learning my camera. I will do it this week. Happy Valentines Day. More soon!!

Disappointment

Well, I got there early and ready to take warm up pics with my new digital camera. I took 2 pictures (and not very good ones) and my camera shut off - the battery died. I was so disappointed!! When we bought the camera, the lady that sold us the camera said that you had to use lithium batteries so I bought some when I bought the camera. I realized this morning that the batteries in the camera were alkaline that came with the camera and I didn't change them out. Luckily, we have a couple more weeks of basketball so maybe I can get some good shots before the season is over. By the way - Kelsie's team played great today, they are really learning alot. This coming weekend is my neice's 4th birthday party so I will post those pics soon - Happy Birthday Hailey!

Snow

In honor of Love Month, I changed to pink - Kelsie's favorite color!! It started out as a rainy, cold, cloudy and sleepy day. It was pretty much like that all day long but when I was picking Kelsie up from school, it started to snow. It was fun to watch on the drive home - big snowflakes. Too bad it wasn't sticking to the ground so we could play in it but it was pretty coming down. Once we got home, Kelsie and I opened up the blinds and watched it snow for another half hour. So pretty. I think Kelsie went to bed tonight hoping to wake up to a winter wonderland tomorrow and a day off for a snow day. I don't think it will happen but it's good to hope! We had so much fun on our last snow day - when it really snowed in January - anytime there is cold and wet weather Kelsie hopes it will snow enough to skip school and go to the park and slide down the hill on the tube. Anyway, I couldn't live with this cold more than just occasionally, but when it does happen it's kind of exciting. Well, better go - more after Saturday's basketball game - I hope to test the capabilities of the new camera and post some pictures.
